Filing/Qualifying for Office

The information on this page is not comprehensive. As a candidate, it is your responsibility to know and follow all relevant Florida election laws and local charters that might have a bearing on your filing or your qualifications to run for office.

April 20, 2025 – the 365-day party affiliation deadline for candidates of federal, state attorney, and public defender offices to change party affiliation to run as a party nominee or without party affiliation, as may be applicable. §99.021, F.S.

June 8, 2025 – the 365-day party affiliation deadline for candidates for State Senator, State Representative, County Office, and Special District to change party affiliation to run as a party nominee or without party affiliation, as may be applicable. §99.021, F.S.

Campaign Reporting Schedules

Candidates, Political Committees and Political Party Executive Committees are required to submit regular financial reports that include contributions and expenditures, following the deadlines specified by the Florida Division of Elections:

An Election Material Request Sheet Form must be filled out and submitted to the Supervisor of Elections office in order to receive voter information.
